apparently, he acted like a gangster back in sec sch. a typical ah beng. and his attendance was perfect but he was never in class except for english, PE and CME. cause he was scared of the teacher.

well, sly went hanged around with two other guys. charlie and i dunno whats the other guy's name. charlie is in jail and the other guys is currently a policeman (what an irony. he used to be a gangster). however, he wan't much of a leader. he was mor of a follower. he wasn't involved in secret societies. he was in 4/1(tech), a class made up of 25 students, all boys. and a fierce teacher was put there just to stop them from killing each other and the other students. they frequently got into fights (including sly) and most of them were members of secret societies. their class was allocated at the top floor, right at the corner so that even if they made trouble, no one would know.

sly has always wanted to be a singer even in school and he used to bring his guitar and perfrom chines songs for his classmates. when asked what he wanted to be, his answer was always, 'a singer'. he didn't pass his N-levels and didn't go to ITE like his other classmates. when his teacher asked him what he was going to do, he said that his mother has already enrolled him in a singing school in china. however, he didn't make it big till singapore idol."
